Kristina Davila
Violin / Viola
Kristina Davila began her music career as a violinist in 2013 at the Escuela Superior de Musica y Danza in Monterrey Mexico. During her time in Mexico she was selected as concertmaster for the National Youth Symphony of Mexico during their national tour. In 2015 she moved to Long Island to study under world renown violinist Albert Markov. Since her arrival to New York, she has performed at such venues as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Carnegie Hall, Tilles Center, Albert Hall at LIC, and a few Steinway Piano Galleries. She is also a member of the North Shore Symphony Orchestra.
Daniel Duggan
Trombone, Music Theory & Composition
Daniel Duggan has been playing trombone since he was in 3rd grade and composing since 6th grade. He studied music composition at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and earned his BA in Music from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in Flushing, NY. As a performer, he has played many diverse styles including Classical, Jazz, Latin, and Gospel. He teaches lessons in Music Theory and Composition, Music History, and Trombone. His passion is bringing music to people of all ages.
Robert Krug
Guitar & Woodwinds
Robert Krug is a musician based on Long Island. He has studied classical guitar and woodwinds and is especially passionate in the areas of improvisation and traditional music, in addition to over a decade of experience with rock and popular music. He has working knowledge in harmony and composition, as well as sound design and electronic production.
Griffin McCarthy
Drums
Griffin McCarthy has been playing drums for over a decade. He has played numerous shows both locally and nationally, as well as recorded music with several artists. As your instructor, he will go over the importance of versatility, dealing with different styles of music and overall having fun with the drums!
Twyla Sommersell
Vocals / Piano
Twyla Sommersell was born in Louisiana and raised in Long Island, New York. Performing from the age of 4 and having a passion for teaching, Twyla received her Music Education degree at Adelphi University with Vocal Performance as her concentration. After college, Twyla began teaching private voice and piano lessons to young people and adults, while directing several choirs. Twyla serves as Director of the Hempstead Assembly of God Youth Choir, whole servicing other churches and schools with musical and vocal training. Twyla also creates original music, vocally arranges and produces, and writes songs for current recording artists. Twyla resides in Brooklyn.
David Trau
Guitars & Music Production / Recording
David Trau is an artist, songwriter, producer and engineer. A graduate of the Musicians Institute’s Guitar and Independent Artist Programs he has been teaching Guitar, Music Production and other vital industry skills for over 10 years. As a live sound engineer, he has run the Clive Davis Theater at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles where he worked with Grammy Award Winning and Nominated Artists including; Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, John Legend, Nick Jonas, Charlie Puth, Sting, James Taylor and many more.
