French Style – Round Chamber – Darker Sound – Greater Depth and Control
The Rousseau 3.0 Classic RC Soprano Saxophone Mouthpiece introduces a new tonal option for classical soprano players seeking a darker, more resonant sound while maintaining the clarity and precision for which Rousseau mouthpieces are known.
Designed by Jody Espina and manufactured entirely at the JodyJazz factory, the RC Soprano introduces a round chamber design that produces a warm, dark, and centered tone with balanced resistance, excellent control, and strong projection. Inspired by the French Style of classical saxophone mouthpiece concepts, the Classic RC Soprano offers a rich, expressive sound that blends beautifully in ensembles while maintaining the depth and flexibility needed for solo performance.

A Note from Jody Espina
With great respect, and a deep sense of responsibility, we are proud to introduce the first Rousseau mouthpieces not designed or inspired by Eugene Rousseau.
From the moment we acquired E. Rousseau Mouthpieces, our commitment has been unwavering: to honor Dr. Rousseau’s legacy by producing his designs at the highest level possible, and to ensure his profound impact on the saxophone world continues to inspire future generations.
At the same time, I felt there was more to say.
When I began designing a new Rousseau model, I had a clear purpose, to fill a gap in the line that players have been feeling for years. The result is the Classic RC Series:
- True round chamber
- Traditional baffle design
- A facing curve that delivers the ideal balance of resistance and freedom
- A rich, warm, dark sound
Simply put, this is a round chamber mouthpiece taken to the next level.
The response has been extraordinary. From world-class professionals to professors to students, players at every level have immediately connected with the Classic RC. In our testing, many musicians preferred it over the round chamber mouthpieces they had been playing for years.
If you play a round chamber mouthpiece, you owe it to yourself to try the Classic RC. I spent extensive time playing and evaluating the leading designs on the market, and I truly believe we’ve made a meaningful leap forward in this category.
Special Note:
“RC” stands for Round Chamber. This new series is not related to the discontinued Rousseau Alto RC model. That earlier design addressed a specific low-note response issue in the NC alto, which we have since resolved.
The new Classic RC Series is a completely original design—built from the ground up and created to stand on its own.
