Don't miss out on this incredibly clean 1972 Deluxe Reverb. 22 watts of glorious all tube, handwired tone, with Tremolo (Vibrato?) and luscious reverb.
The previous owner changed the faceplate to the more sought after black panel used from late 1963 to mid 1967, but the all of the transformers and Utah speaker all date to 1972. Unlike it's larger siblings, there are only a small handful of differences between the AB763 circuit and the circuits used throughout the course of the "Silverface" era of production. The only major difference is the cabinet; the speaker baffle is glued rather than screwed and removable
This amp is mostly original, with a few exceptions. The face plate has been changed, a few screws have been replaced, and the footswitch is a premium replacement from Mojotone. The lower back panel is a homemade replacement. The power tubes are Sovtek's dating from the late 90's, as are most of the 12AX7's; the 12AT7's are vintage American, and the rectifier tube is a vintage GE 5U4GB. All of the power and preamp tubes have been tested and measured between "good" and "very strong" on a Hickok tube tester. A new three prong cable was installed as the originally had it's ground broken off.
When we received the amp, we noticed that some of the electrolytic caps showed sign of leakage, so all of them were replaced. F&T 8uf caps in the power filtering section, and MOD for the 25 and 50uf cabs, and Sprague atom for the lone 5uf cap. This amp sounds fantastic and is ready for the next half century!
